First off, RIP Vine. So much comedy from one app that still lives on through other social media. My favorite vine is the one where a girl walks by on the phone saying "and they were roommates" with sass in her voice and the guy flips the camera around and copies her in a funny voice. Moving on, I love the videos you talked about in your lead blog. I have watched like all their videos and they are hilarious. My favorite one you talked about in the blog was the one with the Salem Witch Trials. I think it was so funny when they said they were going to burn her because she said her favorite word was "moist." I think this is so funny because they are actually making fun of the witch trials for calling people witches when they never did anything to be suspicious of that. I also like the one with the one about Adam and Eve. It is so funny because the one thing God told them not to do is eat the apple. Then Eve wanders off not paying attention and eats the apple. I liked the part when Adam pulls out the syllabus God made and written on it is "don't eat the apple" and they say how it was literally the first thing on the syllabus and she already messed it up for both of them. I see how the incongruity is in their videos because they do things that are so unexpected. I think this is why they are so popular still even after Vine was shut down because people still want to see what they are going to do next. The videos also use benign violation because they find that perfect medium of being so funny but also making fun of things or people.

  1. It's very interesting how Vine's still lives on even after it shut down. Like many high schools have dress up days that are dedicated to Vine.

  2. To speak in the language of my students: I found it very "relatable" when they failed to follow the first rule on the syllabus.
